This was a challenging day. Not because of the difficulty but because of the route finding. Instead of the longer route following the markers, the guide book suggested a shorter more pleasant route mostly along the valley floor all the way to Spoleto. I had to keep the book open and watching carefully to find the many obscure turns. There was a lot of climbing to Trevi where I had a quick sandwich and gelato before heading on to Spoleto. Wild red poppies everywhere and beautiful views.
