To Spello

Past the hermitage the trail revealed some wonderful views down into the valley below. There are two rock promontories worth the scramble up just to see the view. From the top I could clearly see the basilicas of Assisi far below.

Farther down the path I found bright red poppies and shooting stars among the olive groves. Finally I saw the town of Spello ahead.
